According to the commission named by the European Union any EC centred firm, organization or individual will be allowed to register .eu domains

The registrars (= registration authorities) will provide individuals and firms with a quickly, cheap and easy registration service, particularly to small or medium firms.
The registrars may even offer registrations services and other Internet services (which is called unique helpdesk) inorder to power market targets.

There are further extensions however, official pubblic use may be registered on an SLD (= Second Level Domain), such as: domain name@eu.eu.

By the redirect process you can easily get the same web page even composing different domain names.
If you register your domain through www.consultingweb.it you just have to contact info@consultingweb.it to set the redirection service and pay for it, though you can't pay it online yet.

Since 15th January 2000 private persons can register only one .it domain (i.e. namesurname.it).
Whereas it is possible to register as many international domains (.com, .net, .org) as needed.

Since 15th December 1999 all firms and professionals with partita IVA can register as many .it and international domain they want (.com, .net, .org).

There is no real difference between them except for the related Authority.
Choosing a certain extension only depends on your request and on the characters you give to your site.

All lower-case letters of the English alphabet from: a – z
All numbers from: 0 – 9
The minus sign (unless it's the first or the character)
If you register a name with the "space" sign, that will automatically be changed with the minus sign.
Most important domain names must be of at least 3 characters!
